I'm totally smitten with the interior architecture of this living room. The dual paint colors on the arches blend beautifully, the worn wooden floors add wonderful character, the over-scaled windows, the simply drapery, the furniture...I could go on and on. This gem of a room is magnifique! Which design element is your favorite?

Wed, January 26, 2011 Something about the New Year kick started me to actually unfurl the art we purchased on our honeymoon and get to work. As an Interior Architect, I find I’m sometimes plagued by this horrible disease called indecisiveness. However, this sickness only seems to strike when it comes to making decisions for my own home; hence, the reason why our walls remained bare for (gulp) years now. Anyhow, I finally realized our walls were going to be naked for a long time if I didn’t just get over my illness. So I’ve embarked on a framing and hanging extravaganza in the past two weeks. I’ve been obsessing over art walls recently. Here are some that caught my eye…

Those artfully-framed butterflies are nostalgic for me. I grew up in a home filled with cabinets upon cabinets of exotic butterflies all carefully preserved and tagged, this all due to my father who is an avid butterfly collector. As a child I was pretty indifferent about his collection, but now as an adult I find I have a much stronger appreciation for these beautiful specimens.
