    Lime Wood Boutique Hotel

I had a lovely and enchanted weekend…not quite as majestic as the experience one may have at the Lime Wood Hotel in Hampshire, UK. Mine was the city version filled with romantic walks on the boardwalk around the pond and through wildflowers, down the gravel path and pass the geese, underneath the most magnificent blooming tree hand in hand with my hubby.

Lime Wood Hotel, a country house turned boutique hotel nestled within a preserved forest dating back to 1079 and the time of William the Conqueror, offers its guest a slew of charming, authentic delights. The delectable list includes foraging for wild, edible food while you explore the forest, wine tasting at The Cellar, a treatment at the Herb House Spa, or a little off-property excursion to the nearest English village.

No amount of words seems to do it justice; it’s a sight to behold and experience in the flesh. Visit the Lime Wood Hotel website for lots more information and the most evocative video (that had me sold). For more about the design and architecture of the property, check it out here.

El Palauet Barcelona...It's the Place to Be

I've always loved this hotel...it knocks the socks off all the others. Perhaps, it's that they reinvented the hotel stay into a luxurious and personalized experience or maybe it's just the completely phenomenal historically preserved intricate mouldings and details abound that have me hooked. My guess is it's the perfectly executed contrast of a romantic European setting against avant-garde furnishings. Regardless of what IT is (that makes El Palauet Barcelona the most marvelous place ever)...if you happen to have Barcelona on your travel agenda this season, you should stay here...I'll be totally and utterly jealous;-)

    A Summer's Evening...

...spent lounging here would be mighty nice. A great little spot to curl up on the sofa and relax with a glass of wine in hand.  Do you agree?

    Crisp Home With Traditional Underpinnings

So Margaret Russell’s talk yesterday was good…exactly what I expected. Interesting though, when stressing the importance of exclusivity of photographs for publication she brought up the interior I had previous blogged about in this post. To her horror, she didn’t realize images of this interior had already been published online.

On another note, how much do we love the general look and feel of this home? For me, it’s the perfect blend of crispness and modernism with traditional underpinnings. Although, if it were my home I would jazz it up with more landscaping, some exterior shutters for the windows and frame out those three doors a bit more.

    Let the NeoCon Fun Begin

The infamous NeoCon Design conference is upon us! Today I’m off to see Margaret Russell, Editor in Chief at Architectural Digest. She’s one of this year’s keynote speaker and I’m thinking she will offer some good inspiration and tidbits of advice. Later tonight is when the real fun of NeoCon begins….with all the industry parties. I’ll be hitting up HD Magazine’s and CS Interiors. Should be an enjoyable day and evening of industry schmoozing.

    {I'll be hanging here tonight
