    Work.It.Out!

Yes, that’s what I’ve been doing this week…trying to get a floor plan finished to send off to the client! You may remember I posted about a meeting I had involving a confidential project with more details to come. Well, I’ve been toiling away designing a boutique hotel! Yes, I’ll say it again…I’ve been toiling away designing a boutique hotel! And one more time, DESIGNING A BOUTIQUE HOTEL! (I think my Google page rank for the term boutique hotel just went up).

I’ve finished the Programming phase and am now head deep (soon to be neck, shoulders, arms, legs and feet deep) in Schematic design. If you so choose to, you can learn more about the Five Phases of Design here (disclaimer: it was the best “quick and dirty” explanation I could find although you will notice the fifth phase, construction administration, has been omitted. Basically, that means you are overseeing the building of the project as it’s being built, ensuring the general contractor and construction team is correctly building the project according to your drawings, specifications and design)

I hope to share some of my work with you soon. Pssst…I have snippets of progress on my instagram feed…you can follow me by searching for atelierturner!
