5 Favorite Design Elements...Featuring Simply Seductive
Wed, April 6, 2011 I’m honored to present to you Linda from Simply Seductive. She’s sharing her 5 Favorite Design Elements and let me just warn you…you might be seduced but most definitely wowed. Her blog, Simply Seductive, is overflowing with…well…simply stunning imagery and I’m totally head-over-heels in love with her style. One click through her blog and you will be drooling (in a totally fashionable, chic way).

1. Black: So powerful and adaptable, it is the perfect design element that can be used to either make a bold statement for both a rustic/country or modern decor as displayed above, not to mention using it sparingly as an accessory element in your space.

2. Geometric or moroccan-influenced design: Also powerful and adds so much interest and variety to any decor. I especially love the image of the black cast-iron slates leaned against the bathroom windows. I imagine the sun streaming through and reflecting the geometric shapes onto the bathroom floor, which must be magical. Introducing a screen with such a design element would instantly add interest to any home or apartment.

3. Stylish tiles: It is rare that we see tiles of this beauty in our modern-day homes and yet floors are one of the best places to make a statement... remembering to purchase something that you love, which is THE number one rule in interior design. In doing so, rarely does one make unwise choices.

4. Molding: Enough can't be said about how molding can instantly upgrade and add dimension to any space. As these images show, it can be extremely ornate, or simplistic.

5. Modernism: I adore a spartan look, but not too extreme. I chose these two images to show how modernism can be a contender for a home in the country, or as the second image shows, used for one element of a space, such as the fireplace. So easy to embrace modernism in totality, or simply as a feature in a not so modern space.
Thank you, Simply Seductive, for visiting us today...the most beautiful selections without fail!
