In and Out in a Day

I went to NYC for the day for a client project. We spent the day selecting furniture at the NY Design Center and Hudson furniture showroom. I never realized how small the NYDC was in comparison to the Merchandise Mart…regardless we were very productive and accomplished everything on our furniture list of to dos.

On another note, when I was in the airport browsing the design magazine section I spotted the cover of the latest Architectural Digest. Coincidentally, and unbeknownst to me, I have the same room (a slightly different shot) saved in my design inspiration folder.  Over the last week I had been contemplating when to feature the room…so well, I guess now is as good as ever.

For me, it's the graphic, large-scale art piece in contrast to the curved, fringe-adorned sofa that makes the room.

interesting that the sofa appears mauve on the cover but is actually white. Like the mauve better. I've seen that painting or similar pieces in a few of her projects.
